Far Infrared Sauna Therapy is a light based method of treating pain and inflammation in the body. Our sauna uses far infrared heaters to emit radiant heat which is absorbed by the body’s deep layers. This provides a detoxifying sweat with a broad range of health benefits such as boosting the immune system, detoxifying from heavy metals, improving circulation, relieving stress and regulating blood pressure. Our sauna is from Sunlighten and features nine patented, medical-grade Solocarbon heaters. Sunlighten’s proprietary design ensures safety by producing virtually no EMF. It is made with only non-toxic FDA approved materials. The wood is cedar which contains natural oils and resins that have antimicrobial properties that resist staining and odor absorption.

Preparing for your appointment

Preparing for the session
Drink plenty of water before entering the sauna and stay hydrated throughout the session. We recommend drinking a minimum of 4 oz. of water prior to entering the sauna and a minimum of 8 oz. afterwards. No water bottles inside sauna please! Avoid wearing any lotions, oils or perfumes. 

Dress appropriately
Far infrared rays will not penetrate through clothing so it's a good idea to avoid heavy clothing or towels that may obstruct the heat. Some people choose to wear a bathing suit, undergarments or experience the sauna sans clothing entirely. 

Towel Placement
Three towels are provided for your use. To absorb sweat and for hygiene purposes, keep a towel covering the bench at all times and avoid leaning directly on the walls of the sauna. If you would like to use the backrest, toss a towel over it. Place all used towels in the provided laundry basket. 

Starting the Sauna
We preheat the sauna to around 100°F prior to your arrival. Our default start setting is 60 minutes heating to 140°F. The temperature will gradually increase over the course of the session. Feel free to adjust the time and temperature based on your preference and tolerance. 

Session Duration
Start with shorter sessions of around 30 minutes, especially if you're new to infrared saunas and are using heat therapy to treat a specific condition. Over time, you can gradually increase the duration up to 45-60 minutes. You have access to the sauna room for 60 minutes.



Entering the Sauna
Gently open the door and step inside. Sit or lie down on the bench ensuring that your entire body is exposed to the infrared heat. You can use an extra towel or backrest of added support and comfort. 

During the Session
Relax and breath. This is a great time for meditation, reading, listening to music, or any other activity that helps you unwind. To connect your device to the sauna speakers, open your bluetooth settings and select “Sunlighten.” The heat is designed to raise your body’s core temperature generating the detoxifying sweat response. This is an important part of the process. With more frequent sauna use, sweating will increase and occur sooner in the session. If you feel too hot or uncomfortable, lower the temperature or take a short break outside of the sauna. 

After the Session
Drink plenty of water to replenish the fluids lost during the sauna session. Supplementing with electrolytes is a good idea too! Allow your body to cool down naturally and notice how you are feeling. We recommend taking a lukewarm shower. There is a shower available to use in the office. A bathrobe is provided for your use to go between the sauna room and bathroom. 

Sauna Policies
Sauna packages are non refundable and expire within one year of purchase date. Please provide at least 24 hour notice to change or cancel a session. Less than 24 hours notice will lead to a late cancellation fee in the amount of the session. Our sauna fits two! You are welcome to bring a friend, partner, spouse or child along with you for no extra charge. No one under the age of 18 is permitted in the far infrared sauna unless accompanied by a supervising adult.
